Project: Synthesis and characterization of functionalized NFAs for solution-processed sq-BHJ and BHJ OSCs
EIFFEL has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2022 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Networks (HORIZON-MSCA-2022-DN-01) scheme, grant agreement number: 101119780.
Project description:
Objectives: The DC will be trained at Angers (CNRS-MOLTECH-Anjou) in organic synthesis and analytical methods, including NMR, MS, X-ray diffraction, thermal characterisation, optical spectroscopy and electrochemistry. Preparation and characterisation of thin films and OPV devices will also be carried out for preliminary evaluations of news materials as NFAs. The DC will also be trained in i) computational chemistry at UMONS to get better expertise in modelling-assisted chemical design of novel materials and ii) chemistry of soluble (macro)molecules including specific heterocycles developed at Strasbourg (CNRS-ICPEES).
Expected Results. 1) Synthesize new functionalized non-fullerene acceptors; 2) Understanding of structure-properties relationships from the photovoltaic and charge transport properties but also from degradation studies.
The DC will travel abroad for research secondments at partner organisations of the EIFFEL Network and will participate in specialised training meetings and international conferences.
The DC will enroll in the doctoral student programme at Angers University.
Appointment:
The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 36 months (PhD student, regular full-time employment contract). A very attractive salary plus allowances package according to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) – Doctoral Networks rules.
