EIFFEL’s Industrial Workshop was in Dresden

The ๐—˜๐—œ๐—™๐—™๐—˜๐—Ÿ Industrial ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฝ gathered researchers, doctoral candidates, and industry representatives in Dresden from 13โ€“17 April 2026 for an intensive week dedicated to innovation in organic electronics and photovoltaic technologies.

The programme combined scientific exchange with practical industry-oriented training, offering participants a broad perspective on current advances in organic solar cells. Expert talks addressed both fundamental research and emerging applications, including thin-film fabrication methods, organic optoelectronic devices and their use in medical diagnostics and therapeutic technologies.

An important part of the workshop was dedicated to the doctoral candidates of the consortium, who presented the latest developments in their research projects and discussed ongoing collaborations across institutions. These sessions encouraged interdisciplinary dialogue and strengthened connections within the network.

Industry engagement played a major role throughout the event. Especially our 10 Doctoral Candidates took part in a practical characterisation workshop held by Frederik Krebs and รœmran IลŸฤฑl Biรงer (DC9) from infinityPV. Professional opportunities beyond academia were discussed. A particularly memorable experience was the visit to Heliatek, where attendees gained first-hand insight into the commercialisation and production process of organic electronics.

The workshop concluded with an interactive presentation skills training by Michael von Bennigsen designed to support the doctoral candidates in communicating their research effectively to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.

Beyond the formal programme, we had a social programme that provided valuable space for networking, future project planning, and the development of new collaborative ideas, be it for the DCโ€™s secondments or science in general.
