A central part of the EIFFEL research training concept is for the Doctoral Candidates to go on a few secondments lasting approximately 1-3 months each. Until now nine secondments have been running within the EIFFEL consortium.

Secondments are a great opportunity for the DCs to deepen their knowlegde, explore related disciplines and get an intersectoral perspective around the central research topic of the network to develop a new generation of OSCs. The DCs’ research stays at the project parters’ sites support the creation of a sustainable European network and at the same time give the young researchers the opportunity to easily connect as a group and train one another in their labs. 

The fellows report having had fruitful stays at the partner institutions where they could gain new perspectives, got trained in various lab techniques and where they could test their devices, all supporting the progress of their projects.
